Ok, so now that the first set of interviews are over, here's some questions that were asked during the interviews.  Please feel free to add if you had any different questions!!

Tell us about yourself.
 
What would your music program look like, and what kind of resources do you use?
 
What are three important traits to have as a music teacher?
 
How do you assess learning? (This one was asked at every interview, so be prepared!)
 
Do you believe you are a good classroom manager?
 
Tell us about your classroom magagement style.
 
What does your classroom management look like? (also asked at every interview)
 
What would you do if an irate parent came in screaming and yelling at you?
 
Can you give us an example of a time when you had to deal with a challenging student?
 
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
 
Do you have any experience in inner city schools?  If not, what do you know about them?
 
Can you share with us your most successful lesson? (asked often)
 
What did you learn from teaching this lesson?
 
What would you do if a child was behaving inappropriately in class?
 
When would you involve the parents?
 
Using what you know about the educational system today, what is something that you don't like about the system?  What would you do differently? (Be prepared to back it up, and have specific examples things you would do differently)
 
If we were to meet a few of your old students on the street 10 years from now, what would you want them to tell us about how you impacted them as learners and as people?

**All of the interviewers were also very encouraging in the use of our portfolios - they suggested using it whenever you have the chance to back up an explanation with something in your portfolio.
